SANCTITY OF HUMAN LIFE
HOLY SCRIPTURE & CATHOLIC DOCTRINE
Clicking on any furnished links below leads directly to the respective New American Bible verse(s) and/or Catholic Faith Doctrine references. Also provided below are two printer friendly Papal Encyclicals.
Below are many Scriptural references that support the Sanctity of Human Life- from the moment of conception until natural death - and our duty to protect the defenseless. The living, breathing Word of God and our very own Catholic Doctrine share with us that there is no "choice" in this matter; there is no wiggle room.

Matthew 2:18, Matthew 19:13-15, Matthew 19:18, Matthew 20:29-34, Mark 2:16-17, Luke 1:41-45, Luke 6:46-49, Luke 17:11-19, John 4:27, John 10:10, 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, Galatians 1:15-17.
If God does justice for His people, He expects His people to do justice for one another. "Be merciful, just as [also] your Father is merciful" (Luke 6:36); "Go and do likewise" (Luke 10:37); "Do unto others as you would have them do to you" (Matthew 7:12); "Love one another" (John 15:17).
Abortion and neglect of the poor, elderly, widows, orphans, etc, is the opposite of these teachings. It is a reversal of justice. It is a destruction of the helpless, rather than a rescue of them. If God’s people do not intervene to save those whose lives are attacked, then the people are not pleasing or worshiping Him.
